Mrs MFL and I stopped only to find a hand written sign on the door stating that because of lack of maintenance on the building owners part, they found it impossible to run a business there. The sign also gave thanks to the customers for their business over the years but they have no plans on relocating in a new location. The vintage bowling alley next door is also closed. Villa Roma
had a circuitous lineage connection to Milwaukee's original pizzeria, The Caradaro Club
. It boasted a very thin crust with black tasty splotches on the underside that were just delicious. It also featured the creamiest mozzarella cheese on a pizza that I'd ever come across.
My desert island pizza choice just lost one of its finalists.
I will miss it very much.
