New England style Ice Cream in South Florida
-
Sun, 08/22/10 12:31 PM
After spending a week in New Hampshire and Mass. I started to wonder: How is ice cream such a highly evolved art form in New England, where summer lasts only a month or two, and why doesn't South Florida where its HOT year round have anything outside of boring chain and super market varieties? Lived here a long time but hoping I've had my head in the sand. Anyone know of any home grown ice cream stores in Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood, or Miami that are worth their weight in sugar?

From what I can discover from an internet search, you have what you are looking for practically on your doorstep, as the founder of Jaxson's (which make their own ice cream daily) was born in Connecticut. Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor 128 S. Federal Highway Dania Beach, FL 33004 Ph. (954) 923-4445 http://www.jaxsonsicecream.com/index.php
