I have to add a story about our latest order for
Fudge from the outfit in Michigan that I recommended in an earlier post.
Last Wednesday (Feb 9) I decided I wanted to try some of the company's
English Toffee Fudge ( Milk Chocolate with Toffee Crunch all thru it.) I checked the price and it was $6 plus shipping. (one pound). Well I knew we loved the
Maple Walnut Fudge we have ordered several times in the past year, so I decided I would Order a 5 lb loaf of the
Maple Walnut then ask that they add a pound of
English Toffee flavor in the same box to combine shipping costs.
Well,
Dan, The fudge Man, sent me a note verifying the order and told me the Toffee Fudge was a Freebie, since we had purchased several orders previously. He shipped it Thursday the 10th and it arrived in Louisville late in the evening on the 11th (Friday night).
I had not bought either a card or a gift for Janet for
Valentines Day at that point. I figured the box would sit in Louisville over the weekend and we would get it Monday, so I had time to shop for a card.
SO- We made a Wally-World/Costco run Saturday and got home by noon. I checked the computer tracking of the package, and it told me the box was delivered just a few minutes before we got home!!
Doing some quick creative work on-line I made up a free-
Valentine Card for Janet, with all the usual decorations and sappy words....but also telling her that her present was sitting in the mail box out by the road. She was surprised by the card...and more-so by the clue about the box in the Mailbox.
So she hiked up to the road, got the box, and we laughed about how technology has altered our Holiday Greetings !! It was a very fun experience, and I owe my thanks to Dan for the fine product he shipped and the timely handling of our order...and also to our Post Office and their tracking service that gave me the needed info to make it all work out!!!
Oh Yeah,
COSTCO had a coupon for their
Red Velvet Cakes this week. $3.00 off the usual $9.99 price. We bought two (before we knew the candy had arrived), so the house has a large supply of good sweets to share when the grandkids bring Jan her Valentines after Church tomorrow !!!
BTW The
Fudge, Both Flavors, is excellent quality.
