Chicago Chophouse

I've been reading terrible reviews lately of Chicago Chophouse. Apparently the ownership changed and the new owners really ruined it. I haven't been there in years. Has anyone else been there lately?

Is it an issue of quality, menu items, both, or something else? Did the new owners restaff the kitchen? Brad

Both Guy whatshisname on Food Channel, and the Steak paradise show on the Travel Channel featured the Chop house in the past 6 months or so. Maybe it is another case of TV wrecking a place.

I have really never been- If I am downtown and want a steak- It's gene and gorgetti or DB Prime... When I went to Prime at lunch with my daughter one time they were beyond nice, giving us a tour of their salt aging room downstairs, etc. and the truffle mayo and fries were yummy yummy.

We have been very lucky to have found a bunch of good Porterhouse Cuts with our last purchase of Beef 'on sale' at the local market. We had one a couple of nights ago that weighed in at 3.25 lbs, making a very large filet for Janet and a Huge Strip for me (that I couldn't finish at one meal, but did after a late-nite tidbit snack!) We even used a Cleaver to bisect the T-Bone to give equal shares to the Scotties. Total $18.50 for the meat. Served at Home with a minimum of 'fuss' ! We don' need no steekin' AMBIENCE !![8D] $$$$$<
