Roadfood from Seattle to Port Townsend WA?

Can anyone tell me about Roadfood finds on the short trip from the Seattle Ferry Terminal to the Port Angeles Black Ball Ferry in Port Angeles? Lunch or dinner is fine, our breakfast is taken care of in Seattle before we leave. Mid to end of October. Thanks, I have simply had no luck on the where-to-eat  forum site.

The good thing about yelp, is usually there are several reviews
for each restaurant by several different posters which can give you a basic idea on how good a restaurant is. Here on roadfood you may get  get several opinions as well, but for a an area that may be less remote you might (if your lucky) get one person's opinion- but that's all it is, is one person's opinion.

 
Wait, do you mean the Port Townsend or Port Angeles stop?  Or are you driving on into Port Townsend and then to Seattle?
 
We were on the Port Angeles ferry last August and all I can tell you is don't eat at the place immediately after you roll out of the parking lot, on the left, looks like it used to be a Howard Johnson's or something.  It was acceptable but really not good.  Port Angeles is not a great big town but you have to drive through enough little towns on the way back to Seattle that you should be able to find something.  You need to locate a town or towns you expect to be in at a certain time of day and then do a forum search or use Yelp for those towns.  Or find someplace you specifically want to eat and just plan around it.  You do know to show up super early for the ferry if you didn't pre-purchase your ticket, right?

I wish I could remember the name of the place I stopped at in Port Angles several years back. It was excellent, and the comfortable high-backed stools with arm rests at the counter were almost as good as the food.

If in Port Angeles, Frugal's drive thru burgers, The Bushwacker (it has been many years though) and a Chinese place (can't remember the name) ...
 
See if you can find a Northwest Best Places book (if that is even still in print here in the Internet era).

Sorry, not much help ... I never got to Port Townsend very much.

A nice place to have breakfast or lunch is The Oak Table in in Sequim.  The eggs nichole are great and the apple pancake is the size of a hubcap.  Don't waste your time at the Three Crabs.  It is a former shell of itself.  It is now just a tourist place, great view at sunset though.  Port Townshend has a few nice places, I'll have to check for their names since I was last there.  Port Angeles had a relatively good seafood place just off of the ferry but that was years ago, wouldn't recommend it as  I haven't been there recently.  

OOPS forgot my favorite, walking and grazing at the Pike Place Market stalls.

Frugal Burger was the only place Trudy and I found when we were in Port Angeles. Port Townsend has some brewpubs and decent restaurants. And they won't even let you on the ferry to Canada without your passport.

Looks like the Black Ball ferry to me.

That is the Port Angeles Black Ball ferry from Victoria BC, which is why I was confused with the poster's original question and thread title.  It is very dramatic pulling into PA with the mountains and everything in front of you.  Oh hell, I love ferries and I would take one to the 7-11 if it went there.

I joined this forum to find some great eating spots in Nogales, AZ, but got side-tracked when I saw this thread. I live in P.A. and we have some great little eateries here.
Bushwackers - American food (eat in the bar area, the other area is really stodgy)
SoHo Bistro - Asian food - a couple blocks from the ferry
Soba Noodle - Thai food - wonderful
The Landing - adjacent to the ferry dock - great fried clams
And, if you have time, there are two wineries that are wondeful here in town - Harbingers and Camaraderie - you won't be sorry if you visit both. (I'm a retired chef still doing some catering, so I do know the food places here in town.)
 
Have fun - now, I have to figure out how to start a thread on here to find out about Nogales, AZ......

I definately second Soho Asian Bistro, I miss that place. Try Peaks Pub for Chili and beer. Stay away from Ricks Place and The Crab House.

I used to go there frequently but haven't been for years, so I don't know what restaurants are still around in Port Townsend, but I know these 2 places are.

Port Townsend is one of my favorite places in the state and I miss being able to go often.
 
Drive up on top of the bluff and check out all the Victorians!  There used to be a WONDERFUL old grocery in an old building up there with the best baked goods, but I hear the old place burned and they re-opened in a newer building.

Waterfront Pizza is the best pizza in town - their sourdough pizza dough is just wonderful! We love to go to Port Townsend also.

Make sure you give yourself a WHOLE day to spend in Port Townsend.  Better yet, spend the night.

Port Townsend (or PT to locals) is a great-eats destination, so it's really hard to choose just one place.  I agree, it's worth trying to stay overnight if you're a Road-foodie.

Well being a local to the puget sound, and born and raised in the Port Orchard area I can second that the Port Townsend area is a great area for road food!
