There is always a special feeling this time of year.  It feels nice wishing everyone you see, mostly strangers, a Merry Christmas.  It's easy to smile, and people just seem nicer.
 
And what Christmas would be complete without remembering the words of one of my favorite Christmas songs, by a great American poet named Robert Earl Keen:

MikeinRI, Thanks. He's a squad leader in a scout platoon at Fort Bliss right now. But, he'll be heading back downrange in the next year. This time Afghanistan. Last time Iraq.
By the way, he's been hitting the places in El Paso I've told him about from right here on Roasdfood. Good food, he says.

8 AM or so, Grey and overcast with rain turning to a couple of inches of snow forecast for the day.  Brunch at one of my kids homes later this morning, then home for long winter nap this afternoon. A good Christmas in store for us !!  Hope all of you enjoy a fine day as Well !

Made it through last night- lots of food drink and relatives we haven't seen since last Christmas - a good time except for one person that was determined to spoil the fun but we perservered. 
 
Bloody Marys this morning and brunch at 2 - it's raining and the forecast is for a little snow tonight which we haven't seen on Christmas here in the Delta in many years.  The fireplaces are going and we're all cozy.  But regardless of the weather it's gonna be prime rib on the grill tonight!
