Hi All, I'm working on a new breakfast sandwich menu for my "Pick-up and go" menu in my Cafe. I was thinking of using the Cheesesteak Amoroso roll idea. I didn't have any thin sliced steak so I just made a Mushroom onion egg scramble Melt with Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. The sandwich was good but I wanted more flavor, I think it needed green peppers for more taste and color. This sandwich defiantly needs more color. The question to all you Roadfood members is, what have you seen on your travels that may be a good idea for other egg scramble melt hoagies. I was thinking a Spanish Chorizo scramble with sauteed onions, green peppers, with melted Jalapeno Jack cheese...................these are a few pictures of what the first trial sandwich looked like........................Thanks..............Bill

I really got this idea years ago from some friends that owned an Italian Pizza restaurant. They would always ask me if I wanted a Egg and pepper grinder, whenever I said yes, I didn't regret it....................

Looks good, Billy.I think green peppers add nice flavor to eggs.I like your idea of the Spanish chorizo version. In my travels, I have had a greek sandwich( eggs, gyro meat, feta and red onion) and an everything type( eggs, mushrooms, onion, green pepper,tomato, co-jack and ham) Keep experimenting and let us know!

Good concept Billy, but not enough egg.  More egg would give you the flavor you are missing and bind it all together.  Also you are playing with your eggs too much.  Pour them in, saute, flip, add cheese.  Trust me, I sell windows.

I'd prefer a fried egg or two instead of the scrambled
so the yolk would burst its goodness, but I'm guessing that defeats the purpose of a quick breakfast sandwich. :)

Billy, how about an Italian egg sandwich, fried salami/pepperoni, scrambeled eggs, topped with provalone and marinara sauce.
Also like todays pic, haw about making jalapeno pie crusts, putting the ingresients inside and deep frying them?

Now that's a breakfast hoagie!....
 
The deep fried meat pie looks good, and reminded me of pasties.. I grew up on these and have not made them in a long time. Might make some this week for a special.
Filled with round, potato,onion, parsley, turnip, s&p.
Serve with ketchup & or malt vinegar.

I think the scrambled egg without the mushrooms(which over power eggs) some chopped bacon or ham,green pepper, and cheese. Would add plenty of flavor. Top it off with diced tomato and onion. Mmmmm! sounds like a seller to me.
