If you're in Kansas City and looking for some good BBQ head to BB's Lawnside BBQ at 85th & Holmes. One of the best things on the menu is their batter fries. They take the big, long potatoes like you'd used for baked potatoes and slice them into 4 or 5 long, thick wedges, and then fry them in really hot oil for about 30 seconds. Then they pull them out of the oil and batter them in their own special batter and fry them again till they're crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There are times when this is all I get........they're that good !

Sounds intense! And If you then head north, to Iowa City, you can get some spiced sweet potato fries at The Pit, sooooo Delicious. In college I would get a 3 dollar order and feast on it in the park for lunch.

Sounds like the batter fries would be great dipped in melted cheese or sour cream!
