The color of Ben's looks as though it might have achiote oil or paste. Annato is an ingredient found in Trinidad. It would provide that color without increasing the heat level.

That very deep color (without any addition of heat) could be from using achiote oil or paste. Annatto is found in Trinidad.

The chili was great, but the Half Smokes were the straight up bomb!  I found out you can order them from the site!  Now you guys have given me some great ideas for the chili.  I will be spending a lot of time in the gym!

That is a problem about this site, you will need a gym membership after a while.
