After several years I finally made it to Gradys's in Dudley NC. Well, let me tell you, as much as I like Wilber's in Goldsboro, this place will be my 'go to' stop on the way to my SIL's which is about an hour down the road.

I give Pete Jones' Skylight a perfect 100, but Grady's (rhymes with Daddy's) comes in second at 98 - 99. You can read more here:

Slightly off the beaten path between Goldsboro and Mt Olive, your GPS will get you there with no problems.

Limited hours are 10 - 3, Wednesday thru Saturday.

Thanks for the tip and for this most interesting & entertaining web site:  http://www.ncbbqsociety.com

This was very informative, not only about interest in Regional 'Cue, but also for what one can do with a little advanced "Googling":  http://www.ncbbqsociety.com/nchonors.html

It seems like the best places always have such short hours. There's a joint around here that's only open 6am to 11am Mon-Fri that has the best breakfast spread around.

Have you been to Smoque?  I've seen it featured several times on the "foodie shows".   http://smoquebbq.com/
Once on the site click "Press" and they have a clip from Guy Fieri's Diners & Dives.

I went to Grady's last January as part of a barbecue trip. The pork sandwiches were fantastic, but when I had the fried chicken I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It's a fantastic place, and I dream about going back.
