Interesting replies. I think the better question might be will you eat chili with beans? I know most formal chili cook-offs are 'no bean' but some local fundraiser ones have any and all different recipes.
Saying chili with beans is not chili is, IMO like saying a vodka martini is not a martini (though I tend to agree with the latter

When I make chili, I use both stew meat cut into small pieces and ground beef. I tend to use dark red kidney beans, but will use both dark and red.
I like chili with or without beans, but I'm kind of a wuss and don't like it too spicy.
