Elliston Place Soda Shop Closing - Nashville

Just got word that Elliston Place will close this weekend. Sounds like it's a landlord problem. I loved the place and hope someone will step in to save it.

When I was a law student at Vanderbilt, I went to the Elliston Place Soda Shop often. Great fried chicken at Saturday lunch and wonderful coconut cream pie.
 
I remember it fondly, and will be sorry if it closes down.
 
The linked article mentions Candyland -- which was also wonderful, and served a marvelous bittersweet chocolat sundae -- and is also gone.  Sigh.

I hope someone can save Elliston.  My personal favorite Roadfood establishment.  Not counting HoJo's.  Is nothing sacred?

I've been here LOTS of times over the last 20 years.  Too bad.
 

We used to go to Nashville every couple of years for the Florida-Vanderbilt football game. We never made to this place for one reason or another though we walked by several times. Goes to show you, never assume a place like this will be there next time.

Louis you, of all people, should know that nothing lasts forever.  However, hope springs eternal! I quit my job of the past many years and insisted that my new  prospective employer interview me tomorrow at Elliston Place.  Come on down!
