I had a date.  We went to a local hotel's restaurant, and I got fettuccine alfredo with chicken. I didn't take pictures...I'm easing him into getting used to me with my camera around food.

Cool on the date and smart about the camera.

I repeated last night's dinner.  I'm already in the need (want) of more salsa toppings.

A deliciously enticing ham & cheese croissant from Tartine Bakery during one of our pre-Dinner Dessert rounds...

I believe it's incumbent on me to visit with the Jersey City sandwich at Canter's Deli.

While it's very difficult (impossible) to snap a shot (without being intrusive) at House of Prime Rib...it's extraordinary. I'd gladly enjoy it blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back...

It's one of the BEST but hardly ever (if ever) mentioned classic old-school Roadfood experiences to be had. Ever.

No official Roadfood listing for House of Prime Rib. That's shocking. It's easily the "Peter Luger of Prime Rib." Easily...and it's been that way since 1949.

Lawry's has a Roadfood listing! We want HoPR! We want HoPR!

Nobody would even notice me tied-up...unless guided by the candlelight.

You also get to read very interesting books at House of Prime Rib...by candlelight.

Thank you, CC - you were a very portable person!
But if you want your hands tied and eyes blindfolded you'll need a different tour guide...  There would be plenty in SF happy to oblige, however!!
The leftovers were succulent, btw.  Hell no, I did not share them with my bratty little dogs.

I did indeed encounter many offers by the Ferry Building.

The number of the day in SF was 3!

I'm gonna burn that sweatshirt now.

TOTALLY for the date! I am way too old to deal with that nonsense. The food was excellent, as was the company. And, he gets double bonus points for picking me up tonight from work knowing I was going to be tired and sore and cranky and looking like death on a stick, telling me I'm beautiful, and consenting to stop at Steak & Shake on the way home. I am embarrassingly addicted to their western BBQ and bacon burger.

I usually do this with at least three colours of peppers, but I only had red so that's what I used.

I ended up eating what was left of the sausage and peppers, with some crackers spread with cream cheese and sprinkled with garlic salt. Didn't have the energy for anything else after an 11-hour workday.

They made up for the horrible box lunch by making us a darn fine dinner, which I actually got to eat *not* while I was working, and while it was still hot. Chunks of roast beef in gravy with carrots and celery, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted green beans and carrot sticks, French bread, and chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips for dessert.

Tonight I made my Husband's Birthday celebration dinner. Fried Chicken.

His homemade potato salad.

Fresh okra, corn and tomatoes.

Baked beans.

Later on my daughter Emily is making him German chocolate  cupcakes. All in all, a nice birthday dinner!
