I read about the "concept" last evening. First of all, it's not a Domino's venture. It's a venture by the original founder that sold the company. The same guy that decided FL needed a Catholic only town that adhered to church's principles if you wanted to live or run a business there. Now he figures that a take-out/delivery only burger joint that sells nothing but two burgers, plain and one with mayo and lettuce starting at $6 for the basic burger with a Marine military gimmick will sell.
It gets better. The burger only model will be delivered for free up to 1 1/2 miles from the store by employees wearing camouflage and delivering with sir, yes sir type military babble if you buy a minimum of 2 burgers. IIRC, they would be called Gyrenes and the entire management structure of the hole-in-the-wall two burger operation would have a military command and control structure and ranking. They would sell no drinks or sides, offer no dining area, and sell just two types of burgers. I don't know how his Catholic city venture worked out, but I don't think that I like the idea of a burger delivered by a saluting, heel snapping, delivery guy. From QSR industry predictions that have thousands of restaurants going out of business because of the recession over the next few years, this doesn't sound like a good idea.
