I am going to Nashville in March and will miss the Glee Club, but can I get a list of five restaurants that I need to go to? Make that four, since I will be going to Prince's...

Went to a very Roadfood worthy Northern Alabama style Q joint in Birmingham for lunch
I'm in Meridian MS right now- will be heading to Weidmann's for dinner in about an hour or so- Listed in a couple of the older Roadfood books, it has closed and reopened under several changes in ownership but has reopened about a year ago, restored to it's original guise and has received accolades all over the web. 
 
Anyway, there's a nightclub here in Meridian that "advertises" itself as an authentic Mississippi "Juke Joint" they have a facebook page, took one look and thought to myself "forget it, too many white folks" I'll have the real deal tomorrow night in Clarksdale.

WJ:  I can't wait to hear about your adventures in Nashville.

As i recall, there are several roadfood b-days during that time. Paul, myself( the 19th) and Mr. and Mrs Mayor celebrate their anniversary...Joe Rogo is also a Feb. b-day.Besides tipping the hat to my good friend Padre, and in celebration of Lisa and Michael's wedding, tipple to all of us that cant be there!

One week from today. Even this lazy old guy is getting motivated for this ride.  Looking forward to seeing old and new friends and enjoying  some great food while we share company.

In my car in Clarksdale MS using WI Fi  from the delta blues museum across the street- the hotel where I'm staying at, The Riverside Hotel has no internet, no TV but on the bright side I'm staying in the  hooker  John Lee Hooker Room

How was Weidmann's?  I skipped it during my 2008 Mississippi trip because I heard nothing but bad things about it.  Hopefully, the new management improved things.

Can somebody get me a final head count for Loveless? It's a week from today, at 6:30 pm. I'm going to need $24 per person, in cash. Thanks

How was Weidmann's?  I skipped it during my 2008 Mississippi trip because I heard nothing but bad things about it.  Hopefully, the new management improved things.

Weidmann's was impeccable You can see that the new ownership really put in alot. I got there close to 9PM (that's like 1 AM) to folks in the rest of the country) and there was still a nice crowd- My only gripe was that my fried green tomato appetizer was a little overdone- but still had great flavor- and the comeback sauce that came with it was absolutely addictive- I totally recommend Weidmann's.

Bad news for me..............I will not be coming to Nashville. Spent Friday in ER for a nose bleed which had gone on for hours. I had to have my nose packed and the doctor says that packing has to stay in until Friday before he can remove it.  This leaves us  with not enough time to get there. I hope that the rest of you have a great time.,Would one of you send me a few biscuits from Loveless Cafe?

Greymo, I'm really sorry you won't be with us.  If you will email me your address, I will send you a little package that I think you will enjoy.  Lleechef can probably guess what it is, but I'm hoping she'll keep the surprise.

Greymo:  Layoff the aspirin and the bleeding will stop.  I still hope to meet you but if you are unable to attend, we understand and will miss you.

I would have guessed that someone spilled a Shrimp Cocktail on my dinner salad at any of a dozen places between Mobile and Pensacola !!
 
Looks very good to me, as I sit in Snowy Indiana, temp in the 20's , wondering how some fresh Salad and Shrimp would taste for lunch!
