Foodbme wanderingjew Well, as it turns out, I will be taking a later flight out on Sunday so that means not only will I be able to join everyone for brunch, but I'll be able to make make my last stop of the trip at the original Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa Did Dreamland survive the Tornado OK? You can also pick-up a National Champions Tee Shirt for yourself and BuffetBuster! Their website is up and running and includes their original location so it appears they did.

Way to support the TIDE, BB! I just got back last night from New Orleans. It was the only time I have been to that city and not cared about what I ate!

Back to the Uniform.. Yeah Saturday night at the Loveless is the time and place!! If you don't have a Hawaiian Shirt, any of your old bowling shirts will make a great substitute ! Sunday Brunch at Ellendales will be a 'little' more formal...Not Jacket and Tie, mind you, but Sunday means we will be in a larger group of Locals who may or may not be headed to or from religious activities. To better descrbe the standards...Pov Pete has promised to wear socks with his sandals and the Mayor will NOT wear his patch covered vest ! We are trying to leave some time open Saturday afternoon for folks to branch out to places that may interest them, as opposed to running a dawn-to-dusk schedule. Saturday Morning on the KY-TN border will be fun, then some free time in the afternoon (to include motel check-in for us) then A fine get-together at the Loveless. I can taste the Chicken and Livers already!! I am sure that there will be a late-night stop as well! If one of you guys who come in early get out to Martin's BBQ, as suggested by Pogophile, get a menu and be ready to report on how you liked the BBQ. We are looking for an update on the review of Martins ! Ellendales will be the closing session for most of us! We are really getting excited about seeing old and new friends at this year's meeting.

What a day. A new timing belt, drive belt, oil pan (thanks to the stones in lleechef's folks' driveway) and rear brakes. And now I have to shell out money for a muumuu in order to eat dinner in Nashville?

My coffee at the Waffle House was the cheapest expense of the day. After paying for that work on the Tucson my eyes will be permanently dulled.

I can get the shine in Knock 'Em Stiff, Ohio (or the detective bureau at Charleston, West Virginia police headquarters). I'm not sure about a sandwich filled with bones.

I know where you think you're getting your coffee, but I have another place in mind. We may do a side-by-side comparison.

Poverty Pete I know where you think you're getting your coffee, but I have another place in mind. We may do a side-by-side comparison. I usually drink two large cups, so I'm willing to forego the refill discount since I'm always open to new options, however I love the atmosphere at Fido too.

Steve - To bad about the Henpeck...but I have the memories... As I'm partial to bakeries & pie shops, could you give me a list of your favorites within an hour circle of Nashville...unless we are going as a group. Thanks!

Sorry, but all bakeries and pie shops within a one-hour drive of Nashville have decided to close for the week prior to and following our arrival....out of fear.

That, my friend, is a legitimate concern. Heck, given the current trip that I am planning, I figure Donner Pass is going to be closed sometime in the next two weeks.

I Told TTM to pack some MRE's in his Amtrak Carry-on bag. He can toss them to the children lining the track in Donner Pass, just like the famous 'Santa Train' in WV-KY !! (if he doesn't use them elsewhere on the journey.)

Mr. Mayor, speaking of Amtrak, I have informed them that I will require all regionally appropriate meals in the dining car on the California Zephyr. Since dinner the first night will be during a segment through the rolling cornfields of Iowa, I have requested a thick Iowa pork chop with all the fixings. Breakfast should be about the time we roll into Denver, so they should be able to offer a Rocky Mountain Oyster omelet - unless, of course, I can convince Biker Jim to meet me at the train station with one of his rattlesnake dogs! Lunch should be somewhere near Aspen, where hopefully they will have a bison burger on the menu. Dinner will be somewhere in Utah. I don't know what we'll have for dinner, but I fear we'll be drinking the yellow snow by that point. A Basque breakfast will no doubt be provided in Reno the following morning. Lunch will be served as we start rolling through north central California. By that point, we will be served whatever is left for lunch, but I assume that they will have pot brownies for dessert. Should be an awesome ride!
