I would like your opinions on the following:
The former Dean of our College submitted this recipe:
4 boneless chicken breasts
1 c. ketchup
1 can DIET coke
Place chicken in 10" pan
Pour cup of ketchup over chicken
Pour can of DIET coke over ketchup
Bring to a boil
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes
He also suggested you may wants to line your pan with onions and maybe toss in a couple of bay leaves. He said this is ABSOLUTLEY delicious!
Now, we have a health fanatic that had this reaction(all of this went out college wide):
"That recipe may indeed be delicious, but Diet Coke contains Aspartame(Nutrasweet)which breaks down into really nasty chemicals when it's heated, like wood alcohol, for example. That's the poisonous kind. NEVER use Aspartme in foods that are heated. Better yet, never use Aspartame."
Whatcha think?
