SUCK. I tried some tonight, they are not whole potato but potato mashed, formed, frozen and fried. Sheetz's makes a much better FF. So does McDs.

I actually like them better now. Not great, but better than they were. The original fries were ok, the ones they just replaced were dreadful.

It's good that in most places, the BK is right near McD's, as I have been known to get a Whopper, then go get fries from McD's.

I think they are better then the ones they replaced which seemed  like some phony "potato type product" Seem to have mostly lost my taste for fries though and haven't had any I've really liked for a couple of years.

And a shake from Steak & Shake! I've done the same, more times than I can count.

I'll have to give the new fries a go. Might as well...sometimes I want FF, and sometimes I want it to be BK.

I had some by near accident...I got stuck driving on the NYS thru-way last week with a weak battery so my wife ran in a rest stop and grabbed BK for lunch. We both noted the fries were an improvement from the coated fries they used to have (granted its been a couple years since I had those). The coated fries (I assume it was corn starch) were crispy right out of the fryer but got mushy and pasty shortly thereafter.

I never understood what was wrong with the right potato cooked in the right oil...why all the engineering?

A friend stopped by to visit me today and offered to pick up lunch somewhere along the way. I suggested Panera (my friend eats real bland) and she suggested she wanted a burger. BK is about 4 blocks from my house and she stopped there and got the "new" fries. They were OK, not as good as my local pub I went to the other day but OK.  Had a Whopper and it was nowhere near as good as I remember from 5+ years ago.

if any of the FF places with the original recipes with the original ingredients and kept the executive who only worry about the bottom line out of the kitchen, they wouldn't have to reinvent everthing every couple years.

I tried the "new" fries again and give a big thumbs down. However the dbl cheeseburger and the senior coffee (Seattle's Best) for $2.12 is quite a deal.

Simplot or similar branded fries,
Cooked in a high quality liquid vegetable oil,
Lightly salted,
With a maximum holding time of three minutes.

What about the above do all of these restaurants (FF or not) find hard to understand in the above formula  ???

MikeS  you are right THEY SUCK.

I just suffered through some, I prefer Penn Station's fries (natural, sliced right in front of you and then fried skin and all)
