In one man's very humble opinion......I have had 60+ years of tasting great stuff and enjoying good food and may have cut out those last 5 years of drooling away in a wheelchair in some home, being otherwise "fit&healthy". Science - and folks on science grants - love to scare us. Wish more research was put into Gene pools than into food additives as to longetivity and health (they are finally getting there on Cholesterol!). Yes, for some.......most likely because of their genetic make-up.....some foods are no/no's, but what happens is they issue these sweeping generalities to include all people. Give me my bacon, my sausage, and a few stiff drinks in the evening....and I'll see ya all later in the Home! And someone really should define what "processed" means! Milk is processed! So is water if you are on a public supply or have a water softener or filter in your house. Additives?......isn't "irradiating" milk with some sort of possibly harmful gamma rays adding something to it?
Back in "the good ole days" when food was raised at home and meat shot off the back 40, did those folks all live to a ripe old age?
OK.I know some will take offense at my light-hearted BS, but there is a trade-off between being "healthy" (physically, mentally, emotionally) and longetivity
