To NOLA for the festival? I am.
 
Room booked, leave from work granted, family in Nashville expecting me. I'm gonna leave here on my b'day, 3/20. Stay in Nashville until the 22nd. I'll probably stay in Nashville another day or 2. I'll be back to work the night of the 29th.

We're going. Our plane is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, March 21—but we have failed to arrive in New Orleans on a Wednesday for two years in a row.

I was thinking we might just head for New Orleans following the Glee Club gathering in Mobile next February.

Just like last year(75 Smacks for a cheeseburger tasting), I see nothing in this event that makes me want to make the trip.  Fifty Smacks to hear Poppy Tooker(Who?)?  And no crawfish boil.

Poppy Tooker is well known to NOLA foodies, has chef's training, I believe she was part-owner, and an instructor in a cooking school before Katrina, held a regional position in the Slow Food movement, and is involved in a weekly farmer's market - Crescent City Market which is held every Sat. morning in downtown NOLA.  She has a weekly radio show, Louisiana Eats.  Very entertaining, and knowledgeable about NOLA's food history from it's earliest days and what's going on the city's current restaurant scene.
