Destin Florida Area

HI! We are planning a semi annual trip to Destin, Florida. What we are looking for are places to eat that aren't like the typical "Tourist" places but "Hole in the Wall" places where the locals go. Thanks! Kahuna55

Not exactly a road food place, but good seafood, and a nice view.

There is a Mcguires Irish Pub in Destin, a bit smaller but pretty much the same. Also there is a Hogsbreath in Destin, the North Florida Version of the Key West Restaurant and Bar. Not bad food, but at least stop in and get a T-shirt

Go to The Red Bar on road 30A. Goggle their website. You won't be disappointed. Also in Oakaloosa Island try The Hightide. I've lived here since 1964 and have tried everything. These two are very good local places.

? I agree on the Hightide, have not been to Red Bar, I think FWB Hogsbreath closed in the mid 90's Pretty sure that was actually the original. mike
