It's Madness! - Sun, 03/11/12 3:21 PM
If the NCAA conference tournaments last weekend and this are any indication it's going to be a great 3 weeks.  Duke and Syracuse knocked out early, FSU beats North Carolina, Vandy over Kentucky, the Pac-12...pass the bracket sheets!

And Wisconsin got clocked yesterday, while Ohio State and Michigan State square off in five minutes for the Big Ten Tournament Championship and possibly a No. 1 seed.

Those teams aren't really "knocked out" at all.  Those were just the conference mini-tournaments.  All of those teams above will be highly seeded in the NCAA tournament.

I'm picking UNC  TarHeels over Kentucky in the final game.  John Henson's wrist should be better by then, and he'll be back.

Yeah, I think he gets it.  His point was that with the upsets it may portend an interesting NCAA tournament with some upsets.

Only 2 PaC 12 teams in the Dance and the regular  season champ excluded. What a horrible year!

So are everyone else's brackets getting hammered as badly as mine? I've already lost 2 Final Four teams (Mizzou and Vandy) and 1 from the Elite Eight (Duke).  I thought I'd be clever and pick some upsets and sleepers this year but so far that's not working out very well.

No 1st-round #15 upsets since 2001 and then 2 happen on the same day.  No one could've guessed that!

I have UK vs Ohio State in the final, with Kentucky taking it all.  HOWEVER, I am sooo happy to see Indiana back in the Limelight again, I would love to see them beat UK for a second time this year !
Louisville doesn't play a 'pretty' game but they are hanging in there...as is Wisconsin !
March Madness is my favorite Sporting event in the whole year ! Far ahead of Superbowl and the Derby...the only two others that I pay a lot of attention to !

Beats me but it's kind of nice having an ACC-free Final Four for a change!

The Robinson-Sullinger matchup in the KU-OSU game should be interesting.  Hopefully the officials won't bog them down with ticky-tacky calls.

The 9th best team in the B1G 10, Minnesota, is competing for the NIT championship against Stanford.

Should be two great games Saturday. I'm hoping Ohio State will be playing a school from Kentucky for the title.

I'd bet the UK - Looneyville game will bet a bigger TV rating than the Championship game!

I figure Pitino will find a way to beat Kentucky, Self will do the same
with OSU, then Louisville will be emotionlly spent, and poof,
Bill pulls off his magic. :)

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE????
If I live to be 150 I'll never understand this:
"Thousands of raucous fans swarmed streets near the University of Kentucky campus Saturday night, setting couches ablaze and overturning cars after the Wildcats beat cross-state rival Louisville in a Final Four matchup that had riveted the state."

Foodie... Same thing happens after almost every major championship game..NCAA NBA  etc.. I can't recall a Lakers win of the NBA without a 'riot' in L A to 'Celebrate!!
Now we are down to the final game.  Kentucky did beat Louisville, more or less as expected. Lots of folks around here figure the season is now over !
Kansas pulled a last minute win...not an upset, but it looked like they were beat earlier in the game, over OHIO STATE.
So now it will be Kansas/Kentucky.  My guess is that Kentucky will grind out the win...But it ain't over til the fat-lady sings !

I know it happens but WHY does it happen? I just can't understand someone thinking, "Yea! My team won! I think I just go set someone's car on fire?????
Beyond my ability to comprehend.
Oh, and if the Fat Lady does sing, it will be from behind bars, since she set her neighbors couch on fire!

Or shoot someone...

I thought Kansas had a chance but those 3 late turnovers were absolute killers.

I wonder how the Final Four teams will shape up next year because of the early defections to the NBA.  It sounds like it's a foregone conclusion that Robinson, Davis, and Kidd-Gilchrist are going to enter the draft and there's the possibility that Sullinger may do so as well, but I don't recall hearing about any Louisville players (maybe Siva?) leaving early.

I think this is a good time to remember the Championship UK didn't win:  the 1966 game against Texas Western (now UTEP).  Don Haskins' all black team literally came from "nowhere" to wipe Adolph Rupp's prohibitively favored all white team off the floor and "the game" changed forever.
