The "actual" name for the numerous stuffed jalapeno recipes out there is no less vulgar: Atomic Buffalo Turds.  In polite society (I've heard) they simply refer to them as A.B.T.s.  Not sure there's that much to be embarrassed about though.  I mean, camels DO have toes, and ya gotta call them something...

Yes we were. We used to hang out at the bar of the old Bimini Big Game Club. Rum and tonic was the drink, and the food wasn't bratwurst, it was a ham sandwich on Bimini bread.

Although I enjoy brat talk as much as the next non-Wisconsinite, I want to hear more about the pies!  Which one was best?  The most unusual?  And yes, I already know I should have been there.

I'm not sure it was especially "unusual" for its flavor so much as its appearance, but the Poppy Seed Pie caught my attention.  It looked, as its name describes, like thousands of tiny poppy seed islands floating in a custard sea.  As soon as I saw it, I knew this was the type of pie Dad would like, so I snagged a hunk for him.  When I delivered it last night he took one bite and declared it a delightful success.

Thanks so much for the excellent description.  I grew up on poppyseed streudels always being around the house thanks to my German dad and I certainly enjoy poppyseed tortes in Sheboygan, so I imagine the poppyseed pie would be right up my alley.  That was nice of you to bring DaddyRoadhouse a slice of a winner!

Knowing your love of Sour Cream Raisin Pie, Bobbi & I thought you would like the pie she labeled Norske Nook Blueberry Pie.  I previously noted:
 
"Interesting thing about the pie list, you cannot get this Norske Nook Blueberry Pie at the Norske Nook.

"Bobbi took the Norske Nook Raisin Pie recipe and is substituting dried blueberries for the raisins. It will be a Sour Cream Dried-Blueberry Pie.  I just tasted the filling and it is fantastic, the sour cream has a blueberry flavor to it."  
 
The dried blueberries rehydrated during preparation and are soft to the bite.  Not a pie you will find anywhere else, but if you like blueberries and you like sour cream pies, it is an absolute knock-out.  In fact, I believe I'll enjoy a slice with my dinner tonight.

I was blown away by all the pies but two deserve a special shout-out. The Elvis pie was a banana peanut butter chiffon pie. A heavy touch with the peanut butter and it would have been unpleasant. This was perfect and the candied bacon crumbles as a topping made this pie very memorable. The other was a lemon pie and if I'm not mistaken, a lemon curd panna cotta. WOW! Intense fresh lemon flavors had this pie exploding with flavor.

Pie Diva pulled a Jerry Glanville with that Elvis Pie.  Unfortunately, he never arrived.

I remembered your post about the Norske Nook Pie and made that my first stop.  It was fantastic with a perfect balance of sweet blueberry and tangy sour cream.

I'm usually drawn immediately to the lemon or lime pies, but for some reason didn't include them in my selections this time around.  Now I'm sorry I missed them.  I've still got a couple of "take home" pieces yet to try.  Mrs. Roadhouse made the selections.  Maybe I'll get lucky and she picked one of the lemon pies.

There was only one lemon pie, the Lemon Chess. The Caribbean Panna Cotta was coconut and lime. That one had a caramel sauce and toasted coconut to go with it. There were also some bananas to slice up and serve with it. Remember, if there is stuff out on the counter, you may use it.

Blame Pie Diva's sign maker.  He should have included written instructions for the caramel, coconut and bananas.  Shame on him.

I have actually had sour cream blueberry pie once before, in Utah of all places.  But what you describe sounds much better than what I had.  Actually, it sounds incredible!  I love that Piediva is putting her own spin on these recipes.
