Cajun King Hospitalized, Sign his get-well card here, Please. - Sat, 03/17/12 12:15 PM
We got a note from Don's wife, Glenda that he has been hospitalized for some surgery. I will attach her message here. We wish Don and His family all the best we can for a speedy recovery.

Don:  My best wishes also to my Roadfood friend who I have met many times.  The first being at Killer Seafood in Florida and several other places.  Lleechef is correct as hospital food is awful.

Don,
Get yourself healthy and drag on up to Chicago for some real grub!

Or better yet--Smoke Day/Pie Fest is May 26th at JRPfeff's place in Wisconsin.  In the past, such Roadfood luminaries as buffetbuster Travelin' Man, and Davydd have come from far away to join The Contingent in the festivities.  Get well and this could be your year to be the Guest of Honor!

Get well, Don.  If I could send a plate of fried chicken to the hospital, I'd do it.  I guess you'll have to grit your teeth and choke their grub down while you're laid up.

Good Evening...just a quick update. The kids & I just got home from the hospital. Cajunking is not doing as well as we had hoped. The nurses were talking like he might get to come home today but that didn't happen. The decision has not been made yet as to do surgery or not on the abcess, however his blood pressure is still way too high and so is his sugar. The dr changed two of his medications & increased his sugar meds & insulin. Now he is having trouble keeping anything down. (food & meds). Soo he is in the hospital at least til tomorrow & then we'll see what the dr says. Thank you all for the phone calls & well wishes. It really means alot.

Just got off the phone with Donald and he is in good spirits and getting better.  He is hoping to be released some time today.  And, he did find one item from the hospital kitchen that is homemade and delicious.  Much better he tells the forums about it when he is able.

Donald texted me late yesterday afternoon to let me know he is home from the hospital.  No doubt, he is catching up on his much needed sleep.  Hopefully, he will feel up to posting here today to let us know how he is doing.

It is I returned from the horspital.  The was... Buffetbuster didmention one bright spot in the food area.  They have a little old lady in dietary that makes home made pudding for their snacks and desserts, she makes it 3 times a week.  Vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch, all 3 were good.

Just a quick thank you to you all before off to my next doctor's appt.

unfortunately NONE, but I have had some on my twice daily trips back to the hospital for wound care.

The prognosis is looking better, the wound is all cleaned out and starting to heal.  Still hurts from time to time and I am not supposed to sit on it for very long (ok the surgeon said NOT AT ALL, but HA!!!)

Thank you to all my RF family and friends the well wishes were well recieved and the phone calls made my stay brighter.
