Cheese Curds......
-
Tue, 03/27/12 8:36 PM
Who eats them, who sells them?? I was thinking about doing Poutine. Going to experiment with the croud that I'm feeding these days. My wholesaler only carries frozen breaded stuff, no fresh. Found a place online, but the shipping is more than the product.

They are very prevalent in Wisconsin and Minnesota. I have purchased them very often when I visited the area. Sorta tasty with the evening beverage. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

chefbuba Found a place online, but the shipping is more than the product. Unfortunately that might be the case with most places that ship as fresh curds are actually pretty inexpensive. I went to my local cheese store's website and a $6 package of curds costs $35 to ship to Washington... I know Oregon has a cheese industry...are curds available there?

Tilamook has them, but does not ship...... Might have to take a drive down there to get them.

Curds may be harder to find than economically viable. I use a home-made cheese sauce and/or a nice roast beef gravy. A combo of both is most worthy; especially when the fries are steaming and fresh from the fryer.
