This is a new Chef owned, Mom and Pop type restaurant. The the Chef / owner has worked and lived on the island for 20 years. He now has his own place. The food is home style and made from scratch! The fried chicken is soaked in buttermilk and it tastes great. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. He has many of the favorite southern dishes that mom makes, with the experience of a chef. His Ceasar salad actually has fried green tomatoe croutons. The potatoes are a shredded casserole with white cheese. Even the creamed corn is homemade. Nothing canned or frozen here! The desserts are also scratch made. Sorry, I haven't taken any pictures (yet) but he has a facebook page where you can see the food. We live on HHI and eat out frequently, this is our new favorite and we eat here several times a week. My favorite is the chicken biscuit with sausage gravy, it's delicious!
