I had some tasty blue berry beer in Bar Harbor Maine. I was surprised because it actually had a blue berry taste. I also had some apple beer the other evening at a Harley rally and concert. I also had some jalapeno beer in San Diego a while back. It was too hot. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

My wife just made some fruit beers that she submitted to the Indiana State Fair. A cherry hefeweizen and a basil. Maybe one other, I don't remember. The basil was really interesting. And the cherry had a distinctive taste.

They do a great job because New Glarus is like the Dublin Dr. Pepper of fruit beers for NYC! Impossible to get makes people want it that much more. Such a tease...New Glarus.

Simple. New Glarus only distributes in Wisconsin.

I am going to lobby for the cheese vacation to switch from Vermont to New Glarus. America's little Switzerland! It's very pretty. A Cheese Castle close and miniature golf with live goats. Can't get that here either!

Abita Beer at http://abita.com/ makes several flavors, haven't tried any of them, but love the names like Purple Haze(rasberry)

I love beer, almost all kinds, but I despise "flavored" beer. Any decent beer will have plenty of flavor notes to it without adding fruit juice.

When I lived in the UK, I had a Shandy every now and then.......not bad even if my "mates" told me it was ladies drink. Sort of half/half British Lemonade and lager. The lemonade is more like the stuff you find in the soda aisle in the US and the beer..well I supoose it depends on your tastes

Well, my wife's cherry hefeweizen took third place at the State Fair! She made a baltic porter that took first in its category. Makes two years in a row for the porter! Now she's making mead, no telling what she'll concoct next.

Pigiron I love beer, almost all kinds, but I despise "flavored" beer. Any decent beer will have plenty of flavor notes to it without adding fruit juice. Pigiron, what do you think of the lambics, the peche lambic, kriek lambic, etc? I'm hesitant at some flavored beers, but some of them are pretty good. Not just the ones I mentioned but also some of the flavored wheat beers. I won't buy them in bulk without trying a single bottle first, but I'll give 'em a shot, y'know?
