I have been privileged this week to be a part of the 7th World Choir Games, the Olympics of choral singing, here in Cincinnati. (http://www.2012worldchoirgames.com
). We competed yesterday and were in the opening ceremonies Wednesday, featuring the Cincinnati Pops and the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus, as well as cast members from the current Cincinnati Opera production of "Porgy and Bess".
In the last two days, I have met and made friends with people from almost 10 different countries and many states. Tonight, our choir will host a "Friendship Concert" with choirs from Namibia and Thailand.
If you're in the Cincinnati area, this event goes through the 14th. It's a great, great thing -- two of the best days of my life so far despite the stifling heat.
