Hello to you all. 
 
I am new here 
 
I am thinking of opening my own ice cream place (i won't burden with too many details) in Los Angeles. 
 
I was wondering though, how do you know if a location (which I have in mind) is GOOD ENOUGH? 
I am assuming that by foot traffic - and the more, the better. 
 
But still, it's kind'a hard to know. 
 
Any advice will be much appreciated.

Yes, you need traffic and visibility.  It helps to be close to a stop light so people are just shooting by.  That said, success is not location, location, location.  I've seen an ice cream place die and another thrive in the same location several times.  Same for restaurants with similar menus.  Food service is probably the most risky business there is.  Don't do this if you can't afford to lose your investment.  Everybody loves ice cream but the failure rate for ice cream places is a killer. 
 
Foot traffic in LA???
