Velveta cheese

 
My mother always had a box of Velveta in the fridge.  I used to love to snack on it.  I don't believe I have had any for the last 30 - 40 years.  Perhaps I should give it a try.

bread and butter pickles - loved them with sandwiches, but now I find them too sweet.  I was at a party where mini roast beef sandwiches were passed around with a few bread and butter pickles on the side, the caterer had added a dollop of Creole mustard (brown grainy mustard) to the pickles, and it gave them an interesting taste, cut the sweetness too.  
 
frozen boilable bags of sliced beef and gravy - I think it was Freezer Queen.  Before microwaves, we'd dunk them into boiling water, made our own roast beef po boys.  One small pkg. had a generous serving for one sandwich and we thought they were great.  Tried a package a few years ago and it was all gravy, maybe one slice of roast beef.

I still say that it is the best thing for grilled cheese and cheeseburgers. It has such a gooey melt factor. Sure there are better cheeses everywhere but for some things it just works.

Read the ingredients. You will be pleasantly surprised (as opposed to Cheez Whiz, which is pretty much what I would expect it to be).
