I do believe that it's not so much that your taste changes, which it does to some degree, but it's the manufacturer that changes the recipe little by little over time.
There used to be quality
ingredients in the food we purchased, not so true anymore unfortunately. Couple that one issue alone with all the shortcuts they now use to get the product out faster. For example, why should a company slow roast chicken for hours when they can get almost the same taste by hiding the "almost" with cheap spices and save some time and money?
Even some of the fast food has changed for the worse. Just look at how bad KFC is now. Even some Pizzeria's have gone bad by using 2% milk Mozzarella instead of staying with their tried-and-true recipe. (that was in the early 90's in N.E. NJ too!)
