The best is at Player's. Its right next to the University of Texas at Austin's campus. Damn, I miss those cheeseburgers really bad.
Just my 2 cents.

My burger experience in Austin is limited to Hut's, where they make a mighty fine cheeseburger. Really good onion rings and chocolate malts too.

Flat Top Burger Shop about 10 minutes east of Players on Manor Road has a reallly good old fashioned burger. Thin, broad patty with a griddled bun. Grass fed beef available if you're a hippy+above average house cut fries.

Went to Uncle Billy's yesterday had ground brisket burger with bacon ground in.It was excellent and what a great people/dog watching place

also, many taquerias around town offer hamburguesas. La Fruta Feliz on Manor puts out a good one.
