September 21 was the 100th anniversary of Chuck Jones' birth - Sat, 09/22/12 1:05 PM
Chuck Jones, of course, was the genius animator who created (among many others) the Warner Bros. cartoons, "What's Opera, Doc?" and "The Rabbit of Seville."

In honor of this, Minnesota Public Radio's classical station posted this article, which includes links to both cartoons.

Chuck Jones also created the roadrunner cartoons. He wrote a great autobiography and lived long enough to receive the deserved accolades for his contributions to American popular culture.

Can't forget the clock-punching Wolf and Sheepdog, Pepe le Pew, the Singing Frog, the dysfunctional Three Bears family...and I like that he did a mini-series of cartoons featuring Sylvester, and did them minus his most distinctive feature - his big slobbering voice. Genius, sheer genius!
