Heartburn Going to Myrtle Beach next week Looking for roadfood lunch going north of Charleston on Hwy 17. Will be in North Myrtle Beach for a week and would like roadfood selections for the general area Thanks When you go over the bridge into Mt. Pleasant, do yourself a favor and go The Wreck. It's hard to find, but well worth it. Locals go. Best she-crab soup on the planet and all other seafood is good as well. http://www.wreckrc.com/ On Pawley's Island, hit the Chive Blossom.

I also reccomend Mr. Fish. parking can be a problem, but it's good seafood.

Captain Morgan I also reccomend Mr. Fish. parking can be a problem, but it's good seafood. True words from a local! Also, the She Crab soup is the best I've ever had. Great little local joint. Just a note...while excellent, the Chive Blossom down at Pawleys is definitely not "road food". I dropped over a C note for two there last week with no cocktails. That Capt John's at Litchfield also has some of the best whole belly clams from MA I've ever had. (previously noted). It is the ONLY place in the area that serves them. Also, Big Mike's up on 16th and N. Kings Hwy is a true blue soul food joint. http://www.myrtlebeachres...mikes-big-flavors.html

See Wee Restaurant in Awendaw, just north of Mt. Pleasant. It is good as anything you find in the south! The review is on the website. And it's on Hwy. 17.

Good tip! That was on my list as well. Still like TW Graham's just north of there in McLellenville (just off 17). Even Bourdain raved about the place. http://www.tripadvisor.co...aw_South_Carolina.html
