Is anyone else having a problem doing a search on Roadfood? I've tried from different devices and it just says search in progress!!

Your both correct the search engine is not working and that really limits the site.

Not working for me, either. Was trying to look something up earlier and kept getting no results. Even for one word searches.

I never use the search engine. I go onto google.com and use site:roadfood.com as a term.

That sucks and the traffic is way down everything seems to be falling apart on Roadfood.com

How do you know the traffic is way down? Intuition or did you look up numbers?
Bartl is correct. It is easier to type into google  Roadfood:
using the colon helps limit the search to this site.
Then search for the thread of subject you want, assuming you are trying to remember past threads.
like this...
roadfood: what goes on your burger - Google Search

    What Goes On Your Burger?

I know that a bunch of posters that were here every day posting questions/answers, and experiences that have just disappeared. And I'm not talking about not posting as often as they used too I'm speaking to not posting at all. And I assume not reading the threads as well. And that's sad.

If the correct way to search Roadfood is to use Google why have a search engine on the site? Why not a link to Google and some specific directions on how to use it to search Roadfood?

That's just a workaround. My guess is the search engine in this forum software is the culprit, along with an MIA Mr. Rushmore.

For what it's worth I think the search feature here has been lacking as long as I've been to the site. I also think the google method is relatively good. Without it the site looses it's last lifeline. I'm here all the time. Don't post much but always looking for ideas and insight ( I admit, all about builds and real life experiences). I am a 37y/o restaurant professional, culinary background working and just about every position in a restaurant. Even worked a few concession trailers at the nc state fair for a number of years. Sometimes I wish people were more receptive here but I definatly don't want the site to die. I hope this gets sorted out soon. Best regards, kevin

A bit of history: a few years back, I was visiting Virginia, and wanted to find some good restaurants. While looking them up on Google, I noted that a lot of the references were from these forums. I said, "Screw this!" and limited the search to site:roadfood.com. (I use the site: modifier a lot, for a number of purposes). Been using it ever since when I want to find good restaurants in an area; never steered me wrong.

my problem with that method is the Google results link me to the thread without the entire website header, that includes all the navigation and tools.

I think thats because the forum is being served in am Iframe wrapper from some other CMS solution like Joomla or Wordpress.

The internal search should be working now.
