Put 4 cups of chopped figs in a glass bowl, cover with brandy or any liquor you like. Let it sit for a month. Blenderize the whole thing. Get two boxes of pillsbury

quick bread like date nut or cranberry. In a big bowl:

2 boxes pillsbury quickbread

that 4 cups of blenderized figs and alcoholic beverage

3 eggs

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup veg oil

1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla or almond essence

1 cup of them pistachios, chop them in a processor not too fine

1 jar of DRAINED marashino cherries, do not chop

Mix it all up by hand with a spoon, pour it into a 12 cup bundt pan greased and floured.

Place in a 325 oven with a pan of water next to it. Bake it for 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes till toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely in pan before turning out to further cool. The pan of water in the oven next to the fruitcake will cook this evenly. Its even better the next day, keep refrigerated.

This is a DELICIOUS fruit cake without all those yuckky citron chips.
