For my taste, it's too much meringue. More is not better (I used to preach that to my cooks constantly). My mother won many pie contests in PA. She won first place for her apple pie and second place for her lemon meringue in a state competition. It was the perfect balance of light meringue and tart lemon in a melt-in-your-mouth crust. Divine!
