Wireless Lighting For 10x10 Canopy Tent - Sat, 04/20/13 9:34 PM

Was wondering what are good wireless lighting options to use for a 10x10 tent.  I want to hang lighting on the frame for when I do night events. I want wireless because my operation is self sufficient I want to remain that way.

Check out 12 volt led lighting systems.  You can power them with either a cheap 12vdc power supply for powered use, or 12 v dc batteries anywhere from car size to computer UPS or motorcycle size depending on your power requirements.  An old computer UPS can be used as a power source and charger with some modifications.

But a computer UPS needs to plug in so that isn't wireless.but a 12V trolling motor battery would last for days without a charge.

if your handy at all,get some LED trailer back up lights wire a few to a board or other design and then wire to a 12 V car/marine battery.the led back up lights are really bright.Or Google 12 V LED lights.

you only need to plug it in to charge it, they have an internal battery that is usually 300VA. they don't last too long if the draw is heavy nut for lights it should be fine, maybe a couple of hours.

OP- maybe a car battery and an inverter? or 12V lights solar panels?

I found a 4 pack of LED lights at Walmart that clip to to supports on a canopy, we used them last year for night events and they worked great, 3 AAA batteries and we could get a couple of events done using them.

I purchased one before I read this suggestion. I will try it out but it should suffice. I will be hanging it from the inside center of the frame with a bungee cord and the other end around the handle of the lantern.

I bought a lantern just last week from Menards and it is BRIGHT!  At least it looks bright in my house in about a 10x10 room, so I'm hoping it will be perfect for hanging inside my 10x10 canopy at our first night event here in about 10 days....for anyone interested - $20 Rayovac Sportsman LED Lantern, 240 Lumens at Menards.  3 - D Batteries.

QUESTION:  the lantern takes care of lighting on the inside of the canopy, but what about lighting up the banner on the outside to make sure people can see what you're selling once night sets in?  Did you end up coming up with anything to light up that part of your setup up?  There are all sorts of electrical lighting options I've come across but I was hoping same as you, to stay self-sufficient.  I believe getting the banner to be seen is probabaly at least as important as having lighting inside for prep inside so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Jamie
