I'm on the hunt for montreal hidden gems.
Any suggestions?

There is no doubt in my mind where I'd go for breakfast ...
The very first place I would stop at is the famous Cosmo ... even if it was not breakfast ... and then I'd stop again for breakfast the next morning, just for good measure.

Here is a clip of excerpts from the famous documentary about the famous Cosmo ...

Lots of other photos, reviews and even some videos online about the famous Cosmos too.

Reuben's. There's a few of them in town, easily accessable by Metro.

Best smoked meat sandwich I've ever had.

This one is on the to-do list. I hear nothing but glowing things about it. Unique...fun...inexpensive....and they serve Pavlova!!!

About twenty miles west of downtown is a little joint called Smoked Meat Pete. Leaves Schwarz and other big name places wishing they served a smoked meat sandwich this good. Just off highway 20 after you leave the island of Montreal. Worth the half hour drive from downtown if that is where you are staying.
