Beer and Margaritas Mon, 05/6/13 1:00 PM (permalink)
I had Canadian friends visiting last week who wanted to eat at Bubba Gump's on Santa Monica Pier.  I saw people drinking this at other tables as we walked in and it was too interesting to not try it.

As I sipped through the straw, the beer moved on down in to the margarita. It never tasted like beer. It just tasted GOOD! Very refreshing drink.  The Corona was a tiny, maybe 6 ounce bottle.

Bud is making a Malt Beverage that is supposed to have the beer/Margarita flavors combined. At a family dinner over Derby weekend Janet tried one of the Strawberry flavored Bud-Lite-Ritas. it was very disappointing...reminded us of Zima, a beverage we tried a couple of times before declaring it "YUCKIE !!"

Bev Mo has a nice selection of soda!

I had a hell of a time seeking out Seltzer in Tehachapi! Seltzer! Seltzer! That's what I said while walking around Albertson's looking for it.

I saw this drink at a restaurant and was totally curious about it but I hesitated to disturb the other patron (some folks find it rude). Now that I hear it's really good I'll have to give it a try.

It is called a Mexican Bulldog, and here in Texas we always see them made with a 12 oz full size Corona.

It tasted mostly like a margarita.

I've never heard of nor seen that before. I'd definitely try one.

I don't know. Sounds like a hangover in a glass to me.

Interesting.  What about the "whiskey on beer--never fear; beer on whiskey--mighty risky" adage??

Going to my favorite tequila bar this weekend and will see if they make these.
