@Michael Hoffman First of all, there will never be 30,000 people taking lunch at the same time on a military installation. And while on most military installations there are commercially operated food choices, such as Burger King, Pizza Hut, etc., these are all contracted through the Department of Defense. However, you might be able to gain access by contacting the installation's MWR (Morale Welfare Recreation).
I beg to differ. It is Norfolk Naval Station (NOB) I was stationed there when I was in the NAVY and when all the Carriers (5K ppl each) our in port, plus the 30-40 other ships our in port, + the base personnel for the largest navy base in the world all go to lunch it is indeed around 30K going to lunch at the same time. I use to have to sit in the traffic from it.
@ everyone else. I remember when I was stationed there, there was a food truck we use to call the roach coach, but this was back in 2001, MWR was no help. and when I call the base I get the run around about being civilian and they can't give phone numbers to me
Thanks for the replies though to all. I am not going to give up on this, it would be like working a festival everyday and yes I would definitely need to hire an extra hand for refills and cash handling. Thanks again folks I'll keep plucking away at it
