INcredible pink. i have mentioned it before on here. It has worked better than any of that aerosol stainless cleaner, simple green, 409 or the "heavy duty" degreasers at the box stores and my restaurant supplier. I had even tried purple power and this stuff is the best i have found. http://chem-quest.com/incredible-pink.htm
it comes highly concentrated. You can use it straight or dilute it; it has worked for me either way. I have had great luck cleaning steel, aluminum and plastic. It is approved by my local HD as it is non toxic.
The guy i rent my storage space for my cart from turned me on to it and i have used it exclusively since.
also go to your nearest metal/welding supply store. They make scour pads specifically for cleaning steal. They look like the 3m scour pads you use for dishes, but they thicker are coarser. The draw back to these is they do mess with the finish of the steel. They leave scuffs where you have used them, but if it is a tough stain use that then buff it with some metal polish.
