The Blueberry Pie is/was a winter seasonal flavor I believe. Our local Graeters store told me that the Blueberry Pie will go when the Peach comes in here.  Hasn't made the switch yet.

PS- A Special Day at Homemade Pie and Ice Cream Shops all around Louisville. 25 cent scoops of any flavor on a cone all day to celebrate the arrival of Summer.

Just finished a double dip waffle cone...Fresh Peach over Blueberry Pie. Both are wonderful, but my vote for Summer treat goes to the Fresh Peach.

Krogers had the Summer peach and salted caramel.  I bought both at a bit pricey $5.99 for a pint.  I thought the peach was double outstanding and the salted caramel good but not exceptional.  I would definitely buy the peach again.  Every bite had a bite of sweet peach in it.

Our local Kroger's still has peppermint stick in their freezer and "won't get peach in until the peppermint stick is gone"  arseholes!!!

Thank goodness another krogers is only 10 and then 15 miles from our local one.  We need a Graeter's here in SE Indiana.

My local Kroger store in Dallas sells a pint of Graeter's for $4.99. Many times during cooler weather they have Graeter's on sale for $4.49.

CK-
Peppermint stick?  I've never had that and I'm a big fan of anything mint.  You would think that would be more of a Christmas time flavor.

BTW, I still haven't touched that pint of peach from the beginning of this thread, but have gone through at least a dozen black raspberry chips!

Tonight I had 2 scoops of Cotton Candy in a cup, my Daughter had a scoop of Chocolate with a smiley face and my Wife received a free Sundae for her B-Day.
Mine was good but next time I will try either Coconut Chip or Lemon Sorbet.

Cliff - Peppermint stick IS a seasonal flavor, hence them not getting in the peach because they still have Christmas left in the case.

I just travel the extra miles for ice cream and the Krogers in Harrison is actually one of their "Marketplace" stores.

Thanks to the help of my company over the weekend, finally got around to eating the pint of peach which had been in my freezer for a month or so.  It was as good a peach ice cream as I have ever had anywhere.  It even rivals the black raspberry chip as Graeter's best flavor.

Re:Graeter's Peach 2013/08/19 13:04:40 (permalink)
Even though I'm from Indiana originally and travel to northern Kentucky via Cincinnati a couple of times a year, I had never had Graeter's ice cream until I bought some over Fourth of July this year.  I had gone to Whole Foods in St. Paul to get chicken to fry and saw they had Graeter's ice cream in stock.  I bought a container of the coconut chip.  I love coconut ice cream, and especially like the Almond Joy ice cream at Shady Glen in Connecticut. http://www.roadfood.com/R.../Reviews/14/shady-glen

Anyway -- I thought the Graeter's coconut ice cream itself was very good, but I didn't care much for the chocolate chips that were in it.  I thought they were too large (if that's possible), and had a gummy consistency to them.

I'd get Graeter's again, but probably not that flavor.

That surprises me to see so many people say that they don't like the chocolate chips in Graeter's.  For me, that is one of their best features.  It is a dark chocolate, in different shapes and sizes and I am always excited to find a particularly huge chunk!

Sorry, but I am another one who falls into the category of "no chocolate chunks in my ice cream".  Mainly because I don't like chocolate.  I know you're not too fond of nuts but one of my favorites is Velvet's Pecan Praline ice cream.......big chunks of praline and lots of pecans.

P.S. One of the local stores has been running regular specials on Graeters; $3.99 a pint.  Damn good price, almost as cheap as buying it locally in Cincinnati.  But no dang Peach!

For you, I might consider sharing.  But being an only child, "sharing" is not in my vocabulary.  But since it's you, I'll make an exception.

Nothing to do with Graeters but we saw some of your sauce at The Anderson's  in Columbus on Saturday.
