Another iconic star from my youth gone.

At least now Archie and Edith are reunited.

Just saw that. I never realized she played Eleanor Roosevelt in both a TV movie and on stage. A wonderful, talented actress. RIP

I once met her in Pittsburgh.  I was walking down Penn Ave. and so was she.  I said hello and that I loved her acting.  She was just like "Edith" very kind and very talkative.  We chatted for a minute, then we went our ways.

She will always be remembered by the many for All in the Family........ but she was a spectacular actress in many roles, with a superb voice (not at all "Edith")

Some thought she was related to another superb actress, Maureen, but I don't think they were even distant cousins

Nice story!  Can't imagine her being anything but gracious and kind.  I wonder what she was doing in Pittsburgh?

She was performing on stage there but I don't remember where.  It was many years ago.

Which made interviews with her sound rather odd because her voice didn't seem "right"!
