Soft Pretzels

Any of you guys out there vending those frozen soft pretzels from your cart? I've got room for an extra pan that I was thinking of using to warm them up. Wasn't sure if anyone's attempted this method and if it works or not. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have used them in restaurants and they need to be baked, and if you want to salt them you will need to wet them then salt and bake, but they only need to bake 3-5 mins @ 350 if thawed

They make heat and serve ones that don't need to be baked. Do a Google search for past Roadfood posts on the subject. That RT or RJT guy does them.

I tried searching the forums but didnt really find anything.

I bought a 20 pack of Super Pretzels heat and serve at Sam's Club. I'm going to try heating them and keeping them warm in a steam pan. I serve 10pm-2am to the bar crowd so I'm thinking these will be a great seller.

So I tested out the pretzels last night. Did well. I bought the super pretzels. I sprayed them lightly with butter flavored non stick spray, put in between foil and put them in a 4" deep 1/3 pan in my spillage pan area. I flipped another 4" pan over the top. I put a damp towel in the bottom and let them sit that way. They thawed out and stayed warm no problem. I did throw a few in my dog steamer at the beginning of the night just to have a few ready sooner. I brought 10 with me and sold out. I think they'll be a new hit.

That is awesome, did you get any request to put mustard on them? How much did you ask for them?

The pretzels your talking about suck. Take a look at wholesale pretzels in Philly, they are good,I just got back from there......pnwc

They may suck compared to soft pretzels elsewhere but they're the standard in this area and last night proved that they sell. By the time I have wholesale pretzels shipped to me I'll have to charge way to much for it to be worth my time.
