Thanks again. I'm currently in Amarillo TX but will be returning to New Mexico on Friday for the rest of my trip. I'll be flying home a week from today.

Mar, no one will have to eat tomatoes, they were red peppers

tcrouzer- think vinegar slaw with a very spicy kick

That Cuban Sandwich is out of control!  Did you finish the whole thing?  Nice pictures of the stadium too.  Sad to see it was so empty but probably good for getting tickets at dirt cheap prices.

Believe it or not, I'm ashamed to say it, but I did. I just haven't been myself lately.

Great report!  Also, I concur with your timeline of the changes in South Beach.  Fortunately, there have been a couple small changes for the better in the past year or two, with the introduction of a few good independent restaurants (not sure if they would qualify as "Roadfood", though.).   Hopefully that independent / non-chain revival picks up.   But, yes .... South Beach over the course of the past couple decades has had an overall steady decline in unique, independent restaurants.

Another lurker begging you to keep doing trip reports when you have the time and energy.  I so enjoy them.  Even your unedited photos are wonderful, and I love the non food related photos and information as well.

Thanks for your comments, crabtacular
I do appreciate them]
As you can see,I already have
 http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/Magnificent-Memories-in-the-Land-of-Ma%C3%B1ana-and-a-Piece-of-the-Panhandle-m746437.aspx.

It's just that the stress at work (with a new assignment that was "volunteered" to me, on top of everything else I already have), I felt a little under appreciated.

I still haven't found the photo of all of us wearing our yarmulkes - it may be on my phone and not on my camera? But, you left out one of the more unique features of a game in Miami. The Marlins employ women to dance on tables....errrr...the dugouts.

So....I mean....at least there's that.

That photo is probably going to end up in the "non roadfood" category best of list for 2013.
