SC - Now some carmelized onions smashed into the top of that burger and you got yourself a winner.  Hell you got a winner with just the bacon.

Cheeseburger, ordered medium, from J.G. Melon on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NYC.  One of my favorites in the city.  I think this visit was with The Travelin' Man.

THAT is a great looking burger Davydd!  I may be in the minority, but I like Velveeta on cheeseburgers.

As suggested by CajunKing, I'm posting my burger from Umami Burger in Palo Alto.  I got the "Manly Burger" which has beer-cheddar cheese, smoked-salt onion strings, and bacon lardon on a 6-oz. patty.  It was delicious!!

Growing up in the 50's, mom always had a brick of Velveeta in the house. She made Mac & cheese with it(in our Italian house, mom called it "baked macaroni"), great grilled cheese sandwiches, and yes, cheese burgers, of course. Still love it....I'm sorry!!!

That burger from Hamburger King looks so perfect, BB!  Simple, yet darn tasty.

Here's my trio of "Bobcaters" (green chile cheeseburgers) from Shopsin's General Store in the Essex Market on the Lower East Side in NYC.  My apologies for not doing a better job staging them to get a shot of the beef (which had nice pink middles, btw) but Kenny and his family get a bit hinky when people take photos so one must be creative in getting their shots!

My father's burgers were pretty terrific. He called them cannibal sandwiches. He'd mix some grated onion, salt and pepper into ground beef and then put it on a slice of bread. No cooking, of course. I still make them.

Sadly, Chez Jude in Grand Marais, Minnesota is now closed but they could create a great burger. This was the Bison Bistro Burger grilled to perfection in 2009.

From the Corner Bistro in the West Village, NYC.  Not the very best burger I've ever had but definitely worth a stop on any tour.

Mr. Hoffman-grew up with cannibal sandwiches! Dad put the onion on top of the raw beef.........I still eat these to this day, with the beef from a good butcher.

In Miesville, MN south of the Twin Cities (but not too far) there is a tavern called Kings Bar & Grill. On it's menu they feature over 50 some burger combinations. Since we travel frequently between La Crosse, WI and home we vary our route to take in different stops. This was one.

Kings Bar and Grill

The table wasn't really purple. That was just a lighting anomaly. But it seems appropriate for Viking territory.
