For me, it"s all about the dog
You got that 100% correct in my opinion.
I have been to too many places that completely bury their dog in condiments, so much that you do not know what kind of dog is in the bun. The dog should be the star of the show and the rest are only there to compliment it.
When I go into a place I want to know what type
of dog(s) they have, how
it is cooked, and relatively few choices of quality
condiments. When I see generic descriptions and a ton of extras, I seriously question if the owner is proud of what they serve, or are they just out to "slop the hogs" for profit.
I have filed away somewhere a prime example of probably the worst menu I have ever seen from a hot dog joint. I should scan it in and post just to show others what NOT to do. The company name or location is not even on the menu!
