This will probably get moved to recipes, but I made some following this last week. Mexican oregano is very important. Also, I used some chopped frozen Hatch chiles, some fresh Anaheims and Poblanos that I roasted over the stove. This is also a must do. For the pork I got some carnitas from a Mexican grocery here. They make them every Saturday night and I was there Sunday morning and bought 3 pounds. The tomatillos are also very important for authentic flavor. Get the smaller golf ball size if you can find them.

Interesting comments on the recipe. Don't think I agree with
Alice Radley's. There are all kinds of variations on green chile./chile verde.

One of my favorite dishes.
 
Great rolled up in a flour tortilla, over rice or in a bowl!
 
Personally I'd leave out the potatoes.  I've never added the cider vinegar.  Maybe next time. 
 
I've also made it with hominy in place of the potatoes.
