You lost me at kidney beans.  Looks like a pretty good recipe, tho. May have to give it a try. I've been using Shelby's for years and am starting to look for something different.

Out here in Austin putting beans in your chili could find you on the business end of a drygulching but up in Kentucky it's a standard addition.

Beans? We don't need no stinking beans!

Otherwise, nice recipe.

Our church had a fund raising chili  cook-off this past Sunday.  Fourteen ladies, including my daughter in law,  entered, all knowing that their chili would win!  Along came a 14 year old boy (hoping to go the to the CAI to train to become a chef).  You guessed it........he won!!  I am still laughing about it.

Is his recipe available? If so, please post it.

No self-respecting Firehouse Chef would ever put beans in their chili.

Ground meat chili recipes tend to accept beans well. Cubed and shredded meat recipes do not. I love them all.
